The GET-AHED Roadshow: First Live Platform Demonstration

A key moment of the conference was the first live demonstration of the University Greening Toolbox – the digital platform developed by the GET-AHED consortium. The project team presented the platform’s components in two in-depth sessions:

Session I featured  Verena Régent, Bárbara Coelho Gabriel, and Robertt Valente presenting the Green Self-Assessment toolkit. They outlined the robust methodology behind its development: beginning with 130 potential indicators, refined through multiple expert reviews and consultations with 32 external pilot institutions across Europe, resulting in 39 validated indicators spanning six sustainability dimensions. The participatory process involved vice rectors, deans, sustainability heads, and green team members, ensuring the toolkit responds to real institutional needs. In the roadshow, the team demonstrated the self-assessment as well as the feedback and the recommended trainings and good practices that the toolkit offers.

Session II featured Rebecca Robinson, Elias Eder, Jeremiah Spillane, and Darragh Coakley demonstrating the platform’s Green Training and Green Case Studies tools, and the integrated user interface. The development of these components was guided by a strong participatory methodology, including surveys with key target groups – students, staff, and HEI management – as well as focus groups with external experts. The session provided a comprehensive overview of how the three platform tools — Green Self-Assessment Toolkit, Green Training, and Case Studies—interact to support institutions at different stages of their sustainability journey.

Special thanks to MTU, all speakers, participants, and session moderators for making this conference a milestone event in advancing HEI sustainability across Europe.
